The Role AXS*** is seeking a Sr. Solutions Engineer, Marketing Cloud to join our Marketing Technology team. This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting marketing automation solutions, customer journeys, and data integrations within Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Success in this role requires strong solution design skills, hands-on engineering expertise, and the ability to lead technical initiatives while building and executing directly within the platform. Experience supporting enterprise marketing technology ecosystems across global markets, specifically the US, Europe and APAC is strongly preferred. Responsibilities: Build & Architecture Design, develop, and implement complex marketing automation solutions within Salesforce Marketing Cloud, leveraging Email Studio, Automation Studio, Journey Builder, CloudPages, and Mobile Studio. Design, build, and optimize audience segmentation, activation, and customer data solutions leveraging Salesforce Data Cloud, Snowflake, CDPs, and related customer data platforms. Architect and implement data integrations between Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other systems, including CRM, e-commerce platforms, and data warehouses, using MuleSoft or similar integration platforms. Build and maintain API integrations between systems and Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Partner with developers and data engineers to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting marketing automation and audience activation. Platform Engineering & Administration Administer and maintain Salesforce Marketing Cloud configurations, user access, permissions, governance controls, and platform settings. Develop and maintain custom AMPscript and SQL queries to support advanced marketing campaigns and data segmentation. Optimize Salesforce Marketing Cloud performance and scalability, ensuring efficient data processing and campaign execution. Implement and maintain data security and compliance standards within Salesforce Marketing Cloud and integrated systems. Marketing Partnership Partner with regional marketing and business stakeholders across global markets to deliver scalable marketing technology solutions. Design and implement localized customer journeys, segmentation strategies, and audience management frameworks that support regional business requirements. Support customer consent, preference management, and data governance requirements across global markets. Ensure Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementations align with regional compliance, privacy, and data residency requirements where applicable. Coordinate campaign execution and automation processes across multiple time zones, regions, and stakeholder groups. Operational Excellence Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Salesforce Marketing Cloud and data integrations. Collaborate with marketing stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Develop and maintain technical documentation for Salesforce Marketing Cloud configurations, integrations, and processes. Stay up-to-date with the latest Salesforce Marketing Cloud features, releases, and best practices, and evaluate new technologies for potential adoption. Technical Leadership Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of Marketing Cloud Engineers, fostering engineering best practices and high-quality solution delivery. Conduct code reviews and technical design reviews to ensure maintainability, scalability, performance, and adherence to development standards. Mentor and develop engineers through coaching, knowledge sharing, and technical oversight. Establish and promote development standards, coding best practices, governance processes, and quality assurance procedures across the Marketing Technology team. Partner with Product, Marketing, and Engineering stakeholders to support backlog prioritization, sprint planning, technical roadmap execution, and delivery planning. Lead technical investigations, architecture discussions, and solution reviews for complex marketing technology initiatives. Qualifications: Salesforce & Martech Expertise 7+ years of experience as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engineer, Marketing Technology Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Data Developer supporting enterprise-scale marketing platforms. Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership within engineering teams and cross-functional initiatives. Extensive experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud core functionalities and architecture. Hands-on experience building audience segmentation, activation, and customer data solutions using Salesforce Data Cloud, Snowflake, CDPs, or equivalent customer data platforms. Experience designing and maintaining Contact Builder data models, Data Extensions, Attribute Groups, and subscriber data architectures. Strong understanding of enterprise Martech architecture including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Data Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalization, Snowflake, customer data platforms (CDPs), customer identity solutions, and audience activation technologies. Integration & Development Proven experience integrating Salesforce Marketing Cloud with other systems using MuleSoft or similar integration platforms. Strong proficiency in AMPscript, SQL, and JavaScript. Experience with REST and SOAP APIs. Deep understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts. Global Experience Demonstrated experience supporting Salesforce Marketing Cloud or comparable Martech platforms across global markets. Experience supporting data residency, privacy, consent, and governance requirements across the US, Europe, and APAC. Experience managing multi-country customer communications, segmentation, and campaign orchestration across regional markets. Experience with omnichannel customer engagement strategies including email, SMS, mobile push, and emerging messaging channels, including WhatsApp. Operations & Collaboration Experience administering Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including platform configuration, user access, permissions, governance controls, and operational best practices. Experience working within complex Martech ecosystems including CRM, customer data platforms (CDPs), personalization, ecommerce, audience activation, and analytics platforms. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer or Consultant certifications preferred. Bonus Points: Experience supporting high-volume B2C customer engagement programs within ticketing, entertainment, sports, media, hospitality, or similar consumer-focused industries. Experience supporting customer lifecycle marketing, fan engagement, customer retention, personalization, and brand affinity initiatives in high-volume B2C environments. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Knowledge of web development technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS). Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). Experience with CI/CD pipelines. Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalization (MCP) and its integration with Marketing Cloud.
