Responsibilities

  • You'll be joining a supportive team of 2.5 FTE Veterinary Surgeons, one RVN, one SVN, two Receptionist/Animal Nursing Assistants, and an experienced Practice Manager.
  • As a Senior Veterinary Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high standards of nursing care while supporting and developing colleagues within the practice.
  • You'll also act as a source of guidance for the nursing team and contribute to maintaining and improving clinical standards, workflows and patient outcomes.
  • Deliver high-quality nursing care across theatre, inpatient care, diagnostics and medical cases
  • Run a range of nurse consultations, including post-operative checks, weight management clinics, puppy and kitten clinics, senior pet clinics, and other preventative healthcare appointments
  • Support the Lead Veterinary Surgeon with the day-to-day coordination of the nursing team and clinical areas
  • Lead by example, promoting high standards of patient care, infection control, and clinical best practice
  • Mentor, coach and support Student Veterinary Nurses, Animal Nursing Assistants, and less experienced RVNs to encourage their professional development
  • Assist with nurse training, inductions, and ongoing clinical development
  • Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and practice protocols
  • Support stock control, equipment maintenance, and the efficient running of clinical areas
  • Deliver exceptional client care, providing clear advice and education to support preventative healthcare and treatment plans
