Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • PREFERRED
  • Master's degree or above in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or related Science field, or experience implementing algorithms using both toolkits and self-developed code
  • Knowledge of computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, and problem solving
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud technology
  • Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.
  • Experience designing, building, operating, and managing large-scale distributed systems or web services
  • Experience with security and systems that handle sensitive data

Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with applied scientists with Math PhDs, and security researchers to build advanced analytics and machine learning systems at AWS scale.
  • Design, build, and operate large-scale, distributed security detection systems.
  • Collaborate with applied scientists and security researchers to transform research outcomes—such as anomaly detection methods and large language model (LLM)–based approaches—into scalable, production-ready systems.
  • Drive the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, planning, design, implementation, testing, documentation, deployment, and operational support.
  • Conduct design and code reviews, providing feedback on architecture, scalability, performance, and integration.
  • Operate in a highly available, customer-facing environment with on-call
