Responsibilities
- As a Software Engineering Section Leader, you will play a pivotal role in guiding a multi‑program software portfolio that directly supports critical customer objectives.
- Provide first‑line leadership and oversight for software engineering personnel to meet program and organizational objectives.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of Software Engineers across all experience levels and all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with program leadership and technical architects to ensure program objectives, product family goals, and engineering standards are consistently achieved.
- Manage execution across multiple programs, coordinating team efforts, maintaining a shared Agile backlog, and ensuring timely communication with program leadership and customers.
- Support functional management
- including hiring, staffing, resource planning, technical guidance, career development, adherence to engineering processes, productivity improvement, and risk mitigation.
- Contribute to proposal development, including creating cost estimates informed by historical metrics and program data.
