Qualifications
- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Saratoga, California, with occasional travel to local testing sites.
Responsibilities
- Because X-Caddie carries an onboard battery and operates around people, this is a safety-critical system, and you'll work within a safety architecture and toward relevant certification
- Regardless of specialty, everyone in this role will:
- Validate work through simulation and on-site testing on real hardware; analyze performance and iterate.
- Write and maintain production-quality code (Python and/or C++) within a ROS2-based system.

- We do not expect any one candidate to cover all of these — depending on your background, you'll own one or a few and grow into others over time.
- Tell us which of these excite you most:
- Perception: object detection, classification, semantic segmentation, multi-object tracking, and anomaly detection from camera + LiDAR, tuned for low-speed operation around pedestrians and vehicles.
- Localization & state estimation: multi-sensor fusion (LiDAR, IMU, wheel odometry) for reliable pose estimation and drift detection in feature-sparse, repetitive parking structures.
- Motion planning & navigation: global and local planning, decision-making, and recovery behaviors, built primarily on ROS2 / Nav2.
- Precision docking: high-accuracy alignment of the robot to a target vehicle to enable reliable automated charging, robust to real-world variation in vehicle position and environment.
