Job summary

We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Researcher in Pharmacometrics to conduct quantitative pharmacology research with the aim to improve and optimise current and newly developed treatments for malaria and other neglected tropical diseases. This will be done by developing mathematical and statistical models, to describe the time course of drug concentrations and effect.

Qualifications

  • You must have demonstrated experience in developing and applying PBPK models, using platforms such as Simcyp, PK-Sim, GastroPlus, or equivalent.
  • It is essential that you have excellent communication

Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with scientists, software engineers, data managers, and collaborators across the Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit, and the wider Tropical Network Programme.
  • You will be responsible for developing physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models using clinical and preclinical data from MORU and collaborators in order to optimise treatments in infectious disease contexts.
  • You will take part in experimental design, PBPK model development and verification, and translation of model outputs to inform clinical decision-making.
  • You will also provide technical mentorship and practical guidance to junior members of the research group.
  • You will manage your own academic research and administrative tasks and you will adapt existing and develop new research methodologies and materials.
