Parachute System Engineer

Job summary

Here at The***, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

Qualifications

• design reports, analysis summaries and test plans.
• Support the integration of the system into overall vehicle architecture, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team (mechanical, thermal, avionics, AIT, etc.) .
• Evaluate mechanical and thermal loads, material selection, and interface
• for the development of the systems.
• Perform sizing calculations for the different assemblies included in the system.
• Define and execute development test plans, from engineering model concept up to qualification reviews.
• Define test configuration, instrumentation, and data analysis to validate performance of the systems.
• Coordinate with suppliers and external partners for hardware sourcing, qualification, and compliance.
• Support trade-off studies involving weight, cost, reliability, manufacturability, and safety margins.
• WHAT WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE FROM YOU
• Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in space systems engineering, preferably in the development of deceleration systems and/or mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• We are looking for a Parachute System Engineer who will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and qualification of parachute systems and their associated mechanisms for aerospace vehicles.
