Mortuary & Bereavement Assistant

Job summary

To be an integral part of the Mortuary and Bereavement Team; to facilitate the running of the Mortuary as directed by the Mortuary and Bereavement Service Manager. The main purposes of the job to include but are not limited to: Receipt and release of deceased, maintaining documentation and following written procedures ensuring dignity and respect of deceased at all times.

Qualifications

• Liaising with families of the deceased, Funeral Directors, Coroner’s Office and other internal and external agencies as required.
• The post holder may be required to communicate with and provide sensitive information to the Coroner’s Office regarding deceased patients.
