Job summary

JOB SUMMARY The Louisiana State Mesonet, within the School of Sciences at the University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM), is seeking applications for a Full Stack Developer to maintain and continue development of the mesonet web presence and database.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and past work experience.
• Front-end proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and experience with at least one modern front-end framework (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue)
• Back-end proficiency in Python, NodeJS, PHP, Rust, Java, and/or C++
• Database management experience with SQL
• Proficiency with version control (Git and GitHub) and ability to build APIs
• Strong problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features across the frontend and backend
• Collaborate with the mesonet team, partners, and other stakeholders to turn ideas into a polished user interface, new mesonet web products, and/or applications
• Responsible for designing, developing, and deploying user interfaces, server-side logic, managing databases, configuring APIs, and ensuring overall application responsiveness
• Responding to issues on a timely basis to ensure an uninterrupted flow of mesonet data to partners and stakeholders
