Job summary
The Juvenile Court Services Intern position is designed for MSW or Master's Level Counseling program students to gain practical experience while supporting youth and families involved in the Juvenile Court System. The intern will work under close supervision, conducting assessments, formulating treatment plans, and participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings.
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in a MSW program with an accredited School of Social Work
- Must be enrolled in a master's level counseling program with an accredited School of Counseling
- Arizona residents must have an Arizona Driver’s License upon hire; newly established Arizona Residents must have one within 30 days of hire
Responsibilities
- Conducts assessments and evaluations of juveniles and their families involved in the Juvenile Court System
- Formulates treatment plans and evaluates outcomes
- Participates in Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings, Child Family Team meetings and Adult Recover Team meetings
- Conducts parenting skills classes
- Conducts therapy on an individual and group basis
- Consults with staff and participates in the development and monitoring of individual behavior plans
- Participates in crisis intervention
- Provides consultation, education and training to staff and other groups, including parents and other community members
- Researches and implements Best Practice treatment modalities
- Coordinates services with other agencies
- Maintains written records
- Prepares and provides educational and informational materials for community distribution
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records, and restricted County information
- Perform other related duties as required
