About the Team Do you love scripting, dissecting installers, and building automation at scale? We are looking for a Junior Software Packaging Engineer to Join Nin***’s Catalog team. This team builds and maintains the third-party software catalog that powers automated patching across managed endpoints.

Qualifications

  • Location - We are flexible on remote working from home, if you are located in the USA and reside in one of the following states - CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, *IL, KS, MA, MD, ME, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, and WA.
  • Frontline Automation & Rapid Response
  • Build one-off or urgent automation scripts in response to emerging vulnerabilities, vendor changes, or customer needs.
  • Troubleshoot packaging issues, installer failures, and automation edge cases.
  • Partner with Support and Engineering teams to resolve customer-impacting issues quickly and effectively.
  • 2 to 3 years of professional experience in a software development, scripting, or technical IT role.
  • Familiarity operating at the Windows OS level: registry structure (HKLM/HKCU, including how WOW6432Node redirects 32-bit apps on 64 bit systems), file system layout and permissions, and how services and processes work.
  • Experience with Scripting languages or OOP languages
  • Working knowledge of Git
  • Comfortable using AI coding assistants like Copilot or Claude as part of your normal workflow
  • Nice to Have
  • Hands on PowerShell experience.

Responsibilities

  • You will research vendor applications, analyze installers, and build package metadata that powers our RMM’s third-party patching engine.
  • You will join our Software Engineering team, working alongside other Software Product Engineers.
  • You will work with like-minded individuals to deliver exceptional, production-ready automation content for Nin*** clients.
