Job summary

Buc*** is seeking an Immigration Associate for their Miami office, offering an opportunity to work on high-value immigration matters within an AMLAW 200 firm. The role requires handling a diverse caseload, conducting legal research, and collaborating with attorneys on complex immigration issues.

Qualifications

  • Previous immigration and labor and employment experience is required, specifically with employment based immigration (temporary visas as well as permanent residence).
  • Candidates must have excellent knowledge of immigration law and practice backed up with strong academic credentials and research skills.
  • Admittance to practice in Florida is preferred, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Handling a diverse caseload of immigration matters such as non-immigrant petitions, employment-based and family-based green card processes, naturalization applications, waivers of inadmissibility and I-9 compliance.
  • Conducting legal research into immigration laws, regulations and policies to provide accurate advice to clients.
  • Collaborating with other attorneys, shareholders, paralegals and administrative personnel on complex immigration matters.
  • Drafting legal arguments and analysis, forms and petition packages.
  • Taking ownership of cases from beginning to end with limited supervision.
  • Contributing to case strategy and analysis by employing creativity, innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Representing clients at interviews before USCIS.
  • Communicating with clients, government agencies and other parties involved in immigration cases.
  • Staying updated on changes in immigration laws and policies to ensure compliance and provide strategic advice to clients.
  • Assisting in business development efforts, client consultations and networking activities to grow the immigration practice.
  • Participating in and conducting training programs, seminars and professional development opportunities to enhance legal knowledge and skills.
  • Participating in immigration practice group strategy meetings, practice development meetings and other events for teambuilding.
  • Upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality throughout all interactions and transactions.
  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date accounting of time spent on each project.
