Qualifications

  • Production Python experience with a modern web framework and a real ORM (ideally SQLAlchemy); you are ready to do backend work, not just read it
  • Experience with Next.js App Router specifically, and/or experience designing or maintaining shared code that other engineers depended on, such as a design system, SDK, or component library, is strongly preferred
  • Experience with Pydantic or comparable schema-first validation is a plus, as is familiarity with monorepo tooling or a background in engineering, scientific, or other data-heavy systems
  • You consult shared libraries before building from scratch, and you are pragmatic about abstractions
  • You are self-directed, quality-biased, and collaborative – comfortable working alongside domain experts and raising the quality of code that doesn’t look like your own without rewriting it for ego

Responsibilities

  • You will join the application’s tech lead on a small, high-leverage team.
  • The role leans frontend (roughly 70% of the work), but it is genuinely full-stack – you will be expected to work confidently across the backend whenever a feature calls for it.
  • You will work directly alongside vehicle engineers, translating their deep domain expertise into durable, well-designed software.
