Data Analytics Engineer

Job summary

Responsibilities: The NAVAIR Digital Department, Command Data Officer Team is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to work with our diverse operational and customer stakeholders to identify, help acquire, process, and when necessary, visualize and analyze our diverse data sources.

• Work with data scientists, analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to develop thorough documentation for data sources and pipelines (e.g.
• data dictionaries, flow models, etc)
• Bachelor’s degree in an information technology related field is required, Master’s degree is preferred.
• Three (3) years of related experience is required
• Thorough working knowledge of at least two analytical programming languages (R, Python, Scala, SQL)
• Working knowledge of code repositories & version control (Git)
• Basic working knowledge at least one BI/visualization tool (Qlik, Tableau, Power BI)
• Technical and business domain-focused customer experience
• A Security + certification is required within 90 days of higher
• An active DoD Secret Clearance or higher is required
• Selected candidate must pass a background investigation

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will work across diverse technical and operational customers on a number of mission-critical, high-visibility projects to contribute foundational data assets for our analytics team.

• Work with data engineers & developers to acquire, process, and format data both at source and post-extraction to create analytical products
• Work hand-in-hand with data analysts & data scientists to ready diverse data sources for analytics work
• Liaise with business and operational stakeholders and customers to understand business needs, metrics, and goals and objectives.
