Qualifications

  • This position requires graduation from high school or equivalent education and two (2) years of building custodial and general building maintenance work, one (1) year of which must have included lead experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

  • A valid Class “C” driver’s license or higher operator’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for supervising, scheduling, and overseeing day-shift daily cleaning activities for the department’s custodial employees.
  • include (but are not limited to):
  • Establish priorities and develop work assignments to ensure that all cleaning
  • Implement and monitor program activities by planning and organizing the unit’s routine, project and emergency work;
  • Develop work schedules and make necessary revisions to the schedule and/or the teams; adjust assignments when temporary staffing shortages occur to ensure consistency of service;
  • Monitor activities and conduct daily inspections;
  • Evaluate cleanliness of assigned square footage;
  • Provide feedback for continuous improvement;
  • Observe and document general conditions of buildings, floors, carpets, custodial equipment and supplies to provide feedback to the Assistant Director of Building Services;
  • Assess training needs and conduct training as needed for Custodial staff;
  • Ensure Custodial staff are informed of the most current cleaning techniques, methods,
  • and hazardous materials;
