CAD Design Engineer

Job summary

Here at The***, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run. We want you as a talented CAD designer to help us in our mission by modelling the physical architecture of our spacecraft.

Qualifications

• An advanced degree in mechanical, aerospace or manufacturing engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as CAD design Engineer.
• Experience with CAD software such as Siemens NX.
• Strong knowledge on aerospace vehicle design and associated challenges.
• Strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.
• Experience in Composite design is a plus.
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) is a plus.
• Fluent in English.
• German and French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• You will be successful in this role if you are able to help us:
• To lead the design of aerospace components and systems using advanced CAD software.
• To maturate the CAD models by adjusting the architecture, accommodation, structure materials and thicknesses based on the outcomes of the thermo-mechanical computation loops and system trade-offs.
• To collaborate closely with thermal and structural analysts, materials and manufacturing engineers to ensure compliance of the physical architecture with the mission environments and manufacturing constraints.
• To maintain the configuration management of the CAD models.
• To manage the vehicle structure mass budget aided by the CAD model, and tracked in the overall system database.
• To define the volume allocations and clearance specifications towards the vehicle sub systems.
• To contribute to the improvement of CAD
